Michael passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on 9th January 2026.
A beloved husband to Lesley, a devoted father to Samantha and Matthew, a cherished son of June and the eldest brother of Jill and Robert. A respected father-in-law to Tom and Kirsty and an adored Bampy to Joshua, Ava-Mae, Oliver, Jaxon and George.
Michael will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.
A celebration of Michael’s life will take place on Thursday 5th February at Langstone Vale Crematorium at 3pm.
No flowers please. Donations in memory of Michael are welcome for Velindre Cancer Centre, who treated and cared for Michael over the last few years. These may be given at the service, online or sent c/o Tovey Bros, 9/11 Cardiff Road, Newport, NP20 2EH.
Michael was rarely seen without his jeans and T-shirt and had a great love for rugby, especially Newport RFC, the Gwent Dragons, and Wales. Optional attire: jeans and a rugby top/team colours.
