We’re sending sad news of the passing of our father, Graham Strong.

Details regarding the funeral are as follows;

There will be a service on Thursday 27th July at the Gwent Crematorium, Tre-Herbert Rd, Cwmbran NP44 2BZ at 3:30pm.

Veterans from the Royal Navy will be in attendance.

We will be celebrating his life with food and drink afterwards at the Meadows Golf Club, next door. Please wear colourful clothing. We will be celebrating his life.

Family flowers only please.  Donations in lieu by cheque may be made payable to either Royal Naval Association or The Blind Veterans UK which may be handed in after the service or posted c/o Tovey Bros, 9-11 Cardiff Road, Newport NP20 2EH. With ref Graham Strong.

Graham was the middle of three sons of Margaret and Cyril and husband to Diana.

He was father to Roger, Alison and Andrew and was a grandfather and great grandfather. He spent his final years with Ann. They both enjoyed each others company in their later years and she’ll miss him greatly.

In his lifetime he was a Naval engineer, ophthalmic optician and local magistrate.  He loved his golf and helping others. He was a member of many clubs and associations;  NHSOB Newport High School Old Boys, The Royal Naval Association, Newport Golf Club, Round Table and 41 Club.

He passed away peacefully on June 20th in the Royal Gwent Hospital in his home town of Newport.

He will be hugely missed.
