The family are sad to announce that John Charlton has passed away on 18th June 2026 aged 89.

John was born and bred in Newport and lived there all his life.

Married to Nora for almost 60 years, he was a much loved husband,dad,grandad and father in law.

John was very much a family man and worked as a signalman for British Rail for 39 years.

John loved both his holidays abroad and in this country especialy Tenby.

He loved being both by the sea and being in the country. He also loved gardening and watching old films

He will be greatly missed.

There will be a private family service for John at Gwent Crematorium.
